L'Italiana 100%

I was born in Italy, in a small town next to Rome. When I was a child, I always had this vision of leaving my hometown and moving somewhere else. I was always inspired by the United States as it always seemed to have come straight of a movie. Luckily my family always believed in me so they supported my decision when it was time for me to move away.

What do you do in your life (work and fun)?

Accounting is my background, and I have always worked in the Corporate world as a CFO for several companies. My latest job was in the fashion industry. In 2014 I decided to leave the Corporate world and join a partnership with other investors and we created a high-end luxury Italian custom made home furniture brand. Due to my Italian background, I love cooking and I firmly believe that a healthy diet is the key to a healthy lifestyle. I also love sports and the majority of activities that you can do outdoors. I love socializing and attending cultural events. I am also passionate about music and books since I find it a great way to release stress.

What made you leave Italy and chose MiamiI?

I moved 12 years ago for love. Unfortunately it didn’t work out, but we remained friends and I decided to stay in Miami anyway. I had already fallen in love with the city as it is a great place to combine business with leisure.

Please share your best memory in the City.

I will never forget the first time I went out and felt the vibe of Miami.  Such a great mix of cultures and people. I will never forget the first sunset with its beautiful and bright colors. Nor will I ever forget the expression on my parents’ faces when they arrived in Miami for the first time, and I picked them up from their flight in a stretch limo. Mostly, I will never forget my mom’s words, “This is the most beautiful gift I have ever received in my life”. Still impressed upon my mind is the first time I saw the Miami skyline at night. It was breath taking. Even now, after being here 12 years, each time I see it I feel at peace with the world.  Each day, no matter what I have been through, I feel blessed to be here.

What made you choose this specific location and outfit?

I like Soho House for its atmosphere. Since Soho it is a British brand, I love the combination of the European taste in the US contest. Also, since the club is oriented towards Artists and people working in the Fashion industry, it makes the place a unique one in Miami.

Your thought about this project, ITALIANY.US

I think is a beautiful idea because in my opinion Italians through the years, have become an important part of the American lifestyle. In many important cities like New York and Miami, the Italian community has contributed to the growth of these cities in every aspect and had a massive influence on trends.
