Serena di Ronza
Serena di Ronza is an Italian journalist who works for Ansa. She covers the American economy and finance. She moved to New York in 2008, after more than 10 years in Rome working for Ansa, except for a short period in Paris for Eurosport. She has a passion for animals, especially dogs. She recently discovered her passion for running, and she is training for the NY Marathon. She started running to look for a personal challenge and now she really enjoys it.
I’m a journalist, I write about the economy, and I like it, not the politics blah blah but something more linked to everyday life, even if a lot of people probably would disagree.
My job. I was in Rome when the position in New York opened and I applied for it. I move here in 2008, and it was tough at the beginning, especially from a professional point of view. You have to start studying again but it’s interesting.
The best memory is when my dog Tommaso finally arrived from Italy and our first walk together in New York. It was like a new beginning for us.
Central Park is my favorite spot in the city and the outfit, made in Italy except for the shoes, is very chic, it makes me look stunning!
The project is interesting and funny, and it’s about ‘normal’ Italians who live there, not just the celebrities. I think everyone had a lot of fun ‘working’ (he was the only one working!) with Alexo.
An ambassador is someone who shows the best of our country. Everyone knows Italian style and Italian food, and so you have to promote technology, science and culture…there is a lot more in our beautiful country.
