Marta Goldschmied

La Ribelle

Marta was born in Italy and moved  to LA with her family at a very young age (12).”I didn’t know any English. My mom dropped us off at school and everyone thought I was so stuck up because I didn’t talk to anyone, but I didn’t know how”. Now years later she is considered a fashion royalty, being the daughter of AG, and an Insta All-Star. Since 2015 she launched her own brand MADE GOLD, a team of all girls with the idea that clothes do not define the wearer, but the wearer defines the clothes. With the “A” in her logo replaced by the triangular three-dot symbol for “Mi Vida Loca” (my crazy life) suggested by her sister, artist Glenda Goldschmied, MADE GOLD is betting on making history, not relying on it.

What do you do in life (work and fun)?

Designer, lately work has become my whole life so there has not been much fun.

What made you leave Italy and chose LA?

I left Italy with my family when I was young so I did not have much of a choice but I am glad I ended up in Los Angeles.

Please share your best memory in the City.

My favorite memory is driving on Mulholland Drive during a summer sunset.

What made you choose this specific location and outfit?

I chose these jeans because they were inspired by all the subcultures in the city I love, so they seemed perfect for the project.

Your thought about this project, ITALIANY.US

I think it is fun to see why and how all these Italians ended up in the States.

How would you describe being an ambassador of the Italian style/culture abroad?

I left Italy that I was so young that I feel more of a style ambassador for LA.
