Francesco Porcino
L'Ulisse Siculo
I was born in Catania, Sicily. I studied at Liceo Artistico and then at the Academy of Fine Art, after that I did many art shows around Italy. I also work in art restoration.
I work as a bartender for a couple of days, for the rest of the week I spend my time in my art studio. I also love biking around the city and going to visit art events and museums.
After years of exploring the art scene in Italy I decided that it was the moment for a new experience and I challenged myself for a new adventure and came to NYC.
For sure when my first important gallery ‘Spike Gallery’ told me the Guggenheim museum was interested in my work, and also I remember the day I met Leo Castelli.
My art studio is the place where I feel more comfortable to meet with friends.
I think it is a fantastic idea and I feel honored to be part of this project.
After so many years in NYC I stil love to share my Mediterranean background.
