L'Amante Dell'Arte
I was born in Italy and grew up in Rome. I got a Medical Degree from the University of Rome La Sapienza. I studied two years at the University of Milan in their Residency Program for Plastic Surgery. I came to the USA in NYC with my husband (also a Medical Doctor).
I am a Plastic Surgeon and work with my husband. My passion in life is Art. I discovered my love for it here, in the New York museums, and came to appreciate ex post facto the artistic beauties I grew up with. I also like to play golf.
I followed my husband who came to the USA to train in General surgery and then in Plastic Surgery.
The day my son was born in NYC I realized that my relationship with this City would be forever.
My office is just opposite the Metropolitan Museum. I love that location, Fifth Avenue and 82d Street, because of the Museum’s architectural beauty, and the beaux arts mansions in the area and the proximity with Central Park.
I think it is a great project because it gives many different views and reasons why Italians decided to come and live permanently in USA and it links them together. I like the idea of “a photographic journey among the Italians working and living in NY”.
I have been for many years a Board member of La Scuola d’Italia Guglielmo Marconi. The mission is to give children a bilingual education, putting the accent on the Italian Language, History and Culture and using it as a stepping stone to better understand the United States and the world.
