L'Artista
Mario Fratti was born in Italy, but lives in new york since 1963. He is a playwrightanda drama critic he had a long run on Broadway with his musical NINE (his adaptation of his play “six passionate women -Fellini in Venice).
Some of his plays have ben translated and performed in at least 600 theaters. (CAGE, VICTIM, SUICIDE, BRIDGE, CHE GUEVARA,PINOCHET CHILE ’73, SIX PASSIONATE WOMEN, ACADEMY, REFRIGERATORS,SEDUCERS)
My fun in New York is seeing almost every play; then I walk home and enjoy my terrace withy friends.
I left Italy because they do not accept Italian playwrights they prefer foreign play so they can have foreign royalties I got 33 theatre awards and only three professional productions It was time to go to New York where they love good dramas.
My best memory ? I have so many ! Always connected with great plays and great actors.
I chose the central location of Broadway and 55th St. I can walk to the best theatres I enjoyed your photo shoot I was proud of your initiative – Italian artists know how to create the best!
The project ITALIANY is excellent it reminds the Americans that we exist and are very active a project to be praised and helped.
Ambassador of Italian culture ? We must always try to be the best is our duty as children of a great country : our beloved Italy.
