Brunella Casella

Il Camaleonte

I began as a model in the early 70’s, starting with a high-profile campaign shot by Helmut Newton for Missoni. Then 15 years later I opened ELITE MM Milano and as a Director, in conjunction with the ELITE network, I contribute to develop the careers of the world’s most important Supermodels like Linda Evangelista, Nadja Auermann, Stephanie Seymour, Cristhy Turlington, Tatjana Patitz, Amber Valletta, Gisele Bundchen, Adriana Lima and Alessandra Ambrosio among many others. I continued my career taking on the role of Director of Business Development & Special Projects at the ELITE network and in 2014, I was named Director of International Scouting & Placement for the Women network, working between Paris, New York and Lugano. In August 2016, I moved definitively to NY to open the Industry mgmt Group working in close contact with my Boss Federico Pignatelli della Leonessa, owner of the glorious Pier 59 Studios.

What do you do in your life (work and fun)?

I really love my work and until it will be FUN and creative I will continue to do it. Beside that I love loneliness and all wild spaces where I can tap into my primal self.

What made you leave Italy and chose NYC?

I spent almost all my life in Italy, the world’s most beautiful country, but as usual, I had to follow my karma and I plunged in this experience that is one of the most exiting I ever had. New continent, new city, new emotions, new adventure.

Please share your best memory in the City.

Every time I walk around and I see all these people who have come from all over the world and have found their home right here… and I feel to belong to this city as much as they do.

What made you choose this specific location and outfit?

The location is The Pier 59 Studios, where I work and is so a beautiful environment that I cannot be tired of. The outfit? It’s how I dress every day, the most comfortable as possible!

Your thought about this project, ITALIANY.US

This project is super interesting and I’m curious to know if is going to develop in a book.

How would you describe being an ambassador of the Italian style/culture abroad?

I’m so proud to be Italian that I try to be not too much redundant when I talk about my country. I prefer a low profile, my culture and my style speak alone.
