L'Avventurosa
Born in Milan, I draw uncharacteristic “Human beings” and “objects” with an informal technique, mostly in paper. In the late 90’s I moved to New York and in 2001 I landed in Los Angeles developing a mix media work as Art Director and Production Designer. Since 2007 I am Deputy Curators of Building Bridges Art Exchange.
I Draw, than I give advice to the artists I work with, I organize exhibitions and I love to watch movies. I walk a lot because I do not have the car anymore, as I walk I listen to the sounds of the city, looking around with great calm.
I chose NYC in my twenties because I was dazzled by the Woody Allen’s movie “Manhattan”. In Los Angeles, I felt in love with a man and we broke up after seven years, but I couldn’t leave the intrusive light that characterizes this immense city.
The variety of people and situations encountered never equal to themselves. I have a memory in the making, such as Los Angeles, indeed, constantly changing.
UNION STATION. I have chosen a place that for me is characterized by timelessness. A cinematographic place, protagonist yet silent receptacle of stories of all kinds. Union Station for me goes beyond the meaning of a journey or the multitude of people passing every day and sitting on the armchairs. Union Station lives a beauty that is not affected by time.
The originality of the project is in the freedom allowed to the subject to choose and interact with the chosen place. So, with the characterization of each protagonist, through their own stories, is created a complex painting of the city. Suspenders and hat: in my retrospective in Milan the curator asked me suspenders and hat to hang on the wall, instead of my biography.
I feel to bring and share my creative instinct, that I suppose it is a peculiarity of our country.
